Freelance AV Installation Technician (Outside IR35) – Immediate Start

A well-established technical services provider delivering high-quality audio-visual and integrated technology solutions across commercial environments is seeking an experienced Freelance AV Installation Technician to support ongoing and upcoming installations on an ad hoc basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will work on a variety of fixed AV installation projects, including corporate, commercial, and specialist environments. The role requires a strong understanding of AV systems, excellent installation practices, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider delivery team. The position will involve regular travel across Europe, supporting international project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of AV systems including screens, projectors, audio systems, control systems, and associated infrastructure
• Cable pulling, termination, and containment work to a high standard
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Rack building, equipment mounting, and system integration support
• Working with industry-leading platforms such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and Q-SYS
• Adhering to site health & safety standards and project timelines
• Troubleshooting and resolving on-site technical issues

Requirements

• Proven experience in AV fixed installation
• Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and Q-SYS systems
• Strong knowledge of AV signal flow and system components
• Ability to work efficiently on live sites with minimal supervision
• Willingness and ability to travel consistently across Europe
• Own tools and PPE preferred
• ECS/CSCS card (or equivalent) desirable
