A leading environmental organisation are seeking a Data Protection Analyst to join the team on a permanent basis. The role will be working within their compliance team to ensure the integrity of stakeholder data is protected.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for data protection matters across the organisation, offering clear, approachable guidance to teams and individuals.
  • Promote best practice in data protection and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, particularly the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data held by the organisation.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in data protection legislation and regulatory guidance, updating internal policies and processes accordingly.
  • Support the review, development, and implementation of data protection policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Assist in the management and resolution of data protection queries, incidents, and potential breaches, ensuring thorough investigation and appropriate mitigation.
  • Maintain accurate records of processing activities and support ongoing compliance monitoring across departments.
  • Provide support and guidance for data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), ensuring risks are identified and appropriately managed.
  • Help ensure data subject rights requests are handled in a timely and compliant manner, including access, erasure, and rectification requests.
  • Work closely with teams using or developing databases to ensure systems meet security and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to raising awareness of data protection obligations across the organisation through training, advice, and day-to-day support.
  • Support ongoing internal audits or reviews related to data protection and information governance.

 

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Solid understanding of data protection principles and relevant UK legislation, including GDPR.
