The Role

A globally leading engineering business is looking for Embedded Software Engineers to join an innovation team at their Southampton site, developing embedded software for high-reliability systems. This is a hybrid role, with three days per week required onsite.

The client works across the full embedded stack, from low-level C through to multi-threaded, OS-based C++, and the role can be shaped around your own strengths and experience level. Whether you’re a junior engineer building your embedded skillset or a senior engineer looking for technical depth, there’s scope to tailor the work to you. What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining embedded software in C/C++
• Designing, testing, and integrating software for complex embedded systems
• Working across the full software development lifecycle
• Collaborating with hardware, FPGA, and systems engineering teams
• Building robust, high-performance software for advanced engineering applications

What We’re Looking For

• Embedded software development experience in C and/or C++
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), SOLID pri
