Growing past 50+ employees is not for everyone, and success is not defined by the ability to scale. But for those companies who are looking to grow, scale and acquire funding, there are stages where your internal infrastructure will inevitably change.<\/p>\n

Learning how to scale a business can be a real challenge for leaders. Understanding the strategies for growth that align with your business vision and recognizing the different chapters of growth is something that has helped me enormously!<\/p>\n

I would highly recommend giving my podcast episode with Miles Hunt a listen. Miles has over 30 years of experience building successful companies and is the former CEO of Empresaria Group, a staffing company that he built to over \u00a3200m in revenue with operations in 20 countries.<\/p>\n

If you focus solely on goals, it can be easy to become discouraged if you don\u2019t reach these goals repeatedly (even though you might be making progress in other ways). By focusing on the system rather than the goal, you can think more clearly about how your current efforts integrate into your overall goal.<\/p>\n

Track the effectiveness of your systems; are they helping you reach your goals? If they\u2019re not, what do you want to take from this system and put into the next? Remember, it\u2019s not all about where you want to be, but also how you\u2019re going to get there.<\/p>\n

During a scaling period, there will be lots of internal transformations, including your role. From the moment you launch your start-up, think about what you can strategically work on to help your company grow and scale. Be prepared to learn.<\/p>\n

Strategy<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 What does the future of your business look like and what does it need to thrive?<\/p>\n

Self-Reflection<\/strong>\u2013 Be self-reflective of your journey so far. Incorporate reflection into your routine. Analyse your strengths and weaknesses and build a team to fill these gaps.<\/p>\n

Mentoring<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Be present with your team and empower them to succeed. Communicate your company\u2019s vision and purpose from the top down. Create the sense of purpose behind the work your team is doing.<\/p>\n
